We love hearing from our students and this is feedback from one of our previous students.
I was very keen to do this Teaching Assistant course because NCFE CACHE are highly recognised organisations within the teaching sector. This accredited course gave me exactly the same qualification as my local college and enhanced both my professional development and career prospects. My course is regulated by OFQUAL so it really put my mind at rest knowing that this is a trusted qualification.
It has definitely made my job a lot easier. It has improved my ability to engage and advise staff about any issues they may have and enhanced my confidence when in the school as I have a greater understanding of how everything works. This has led to both better teaching and happier pupils.
My employer offers the course to their employees and pays for us to do the training. In my opinion this is an investment that pays for itself. Schools are reliant on a good reputation to be successful, these qualifications lead to improved working practices and parent relations, which inevitably leads to a better reputation and happier people.
Yes, it’s definitely helped me in my job and I think it will help me progress in my career. I’d seriously recommend it to anyone wishing to have a good career and reputation within the teaching assistant field.
The material can be quite intense at times. But there’s no immediate deadline and you can do things at your own pace. Personally I didn’t struggle finding the time to do it. You just need to commit to it. It’s not hard to find a couple of hours in the evening or on a day off to work your way through a few questions at a time. I had been pushing to do it for a while and I was happy enough to put the time in. Its an investment in my own future and a good qualification to have.
I’ve always loved working with children and in child care so I’ve wanted this type of career for as long as I can remember! My children started school a few years ago and I just progressed from there really. I started off by volunteering to help out at school sports days and gradually got more and more involved with general day to day routines. Eventually it was decided a formal qualification was a good idea and by doing a QCF teaching assistant course, the rest is history. After finishing the course I’ve been working at my children’s school as a teaching assistant and enjoying the career path I’ve chosen.
