Yes, all awarding bodies are the same and the qualifications they accredit are the same. This is because the standards and qualifications are written by sector skills councils and approved by Ofqual. All awarding bodies are regulated by Ofqual including CACHE, NCFE, City & Guilds, Edexcel, OCR etc. The qualification is no different and the certificate is equally recognised no matter who it is accredited by.
In 1981, the Northern Advisory Council for Further Education (NACFE), which was established in 1947 to co-ordinate further education provision throughout the nine LEAs, merged with the NCTEC to become the Northern Council for Further Education.
When the further education sector was incorporated (made independent of the government) in the early 1990s the company felt the old name was incompatible with their new national focus and has since then been identified simply as NCFE with the letters no longer being an acronym.
If you’re already working in a school we recommend our Teaching Assistant: Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Certificate RQF Level 3 course. It has the requirement of 50 hours practical assessment in the classroom so you must be working in a school for a minimum of 7 hours per week to be able to enrol on it. This course is an NCFE CACHE Accredited course and gains 32 credits. You’ll need to complete a mix of written assignments and practical assessments for this course and you cannot pass this course without completing the required observational tasks. We do not have the facilities to offer any work placements so you’ll need to find your own employment within a school.
If you don’t yet have a work placement, you can still enrol on our RQF Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools course and upgrade your course as soon as you’re ready. We give you all the extra modules from the 32 credit work-placement course above so you’re fully prepared if ever you do decide to upgrade. All your RQF credits can easily be transferred to the work-placement course, meaning there’s no need to repeat any work you’ve already completed. Please note that there are additional fees if you wish to upgrade your course.
If you’d like to upgrade your course at any-time, please call our education team on 01722 250012 and they’ll be happy to help you.
You may apply for your NUS card on-line, as soon as your enrolment’s completed. Joining up is a very easy process and it usually takes 10 days for your card to be issued.

You answer your assignments by writing or typing your answers into essay style explanations. These explanations can also include graphs and spider diagrams to help explain your answers. We encourage students to use the Harvard Reference system in their personal learning journal ( where you write down the source of your answer ). Once we receive your assignment we follow set RQF guidelines for marking your work – it is assessed by an internal assessor and their work is then checked by an internal verifier. We also have random inspections done by independent external verifiers ensuring we meet the highest standards.
Enrolments are open every day of the year. We send out your course for next working day delivery, getting you started as quickly as we can.

No, you are continually assessed throughout your course by written assignments. There are mandatory RQF assignments that need to completed and passed to gain your level 3 RQF award. Tutor feedback is provided after each assignment and if any help is needed to pass an assignment, your tutor will be on hand for you to get in touch with. No, you do not need a computer to complete this course. Your course is delivered in printed book form and you can choose to complete your assignments by handwriting or by computer, submitting your assignments either by paper or e-mail. We find some people prefer to handwrite their work while others prefer to use e-mail. Generally e-mail is the quicker and safer option as you don’t have to wait for Royal Mail to deliver your work and there’s less chance of it going missing. The majority of colleges are unable to offer the dual submission service we offer as it’s a lot easier for them not to have to deal with assignments that arrive by post.
Don’t worry, your tutor will give you feedback and advice as to where you could improve, and will ask you to resubmit your assignment once you have reworked it.
No, this course presumes no previous experience and designed to teach you how to become a Teaching Assistant from the ground up. You should have a reasonable standard of literacy.

For the Level 3 Award course there are 4 mandatory QCF assignments. RQF is the national credit transfer system for education qualifications in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. These 4 mandatory assignments are regulated by OFQUAL and upon successful completion of all 4 assignments you will gain your RQF Level 3 Award certificate. If you later decide you’d like to progress to a higher level course we can easily transfer your RQF credits for you, meaning that you wont have to repeat the same lessons twice.

Yes, this is a nationally recognised RQF award, the course is accredited by NCFE CACHE, who are regulated by the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (OFQUAL) in England, The Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS) in Wales, and the Council for Curriculum Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.
The RQF Framework is a system for recognising skills and qualifications at a national level by awarding credit for qualifications, and for smaller individual learning outcomes (or “units”), which can be “banked” to make up a larger or more inclusive accreditation. It is a very flexible system, which allows learners to gain qualifications at their own pace, and through routes such as distance learning which suit their own personal circumstances. RQF enables courses, qualifications and accreditations obtained by students in a wide variety of subject areas to be effectively “benchmarked” or measured against diverse and otherwise unrelated subjects according to difficulty and quantity of study time required. In this way, achievements can be recognised and rewarded through the award of credits and qualifications at a nationally recognised level, regardless of the subject matter studied.
We accept credit/debit cards, cheques, direct deposit, invoices and Paypal. When sending a cheque, please make it out to Brighter Learning.
OFQUAL have listed this course as 80 study hours but it really depends on how much study you are able to put in. There is a 12 month time limit to completing your course and there are no penalties for completing the course as soon as you can.
As soon as your enrolment is complete you will have your own personal tutor who’s there to help as much as you may need them. The easiest way to contact your tutor is by telephoning them directly and they will be able to help you in real time, live on the telephone. If you prefer, you can contact them by e-mail and they will be more than happy respond to your query.
